3. Trade and Investment Promotion by the Netherlands

3.4 The Netherland's Embassy activities on Private Sector Development (PSD)

The Netherlands embassy in Dhaka plans to extent and further integrate PSD activities in its development cooperation programme. Ultimately, the goal of improving the enabling environment for doing business in Bangladesh is to reduce poverty via sustainable and pro-poor economic growth. At the same time, a better enabling environment in Bangladesh will also enhance the opportunities for Dutch traders and investors on the Bangladeshi market. Current PSD activities of the embassy are support to:

  • Dutch Bangla Chamber of Commerce and Industries (DBCCI);

  • Bangladesh Enterprise Institute (BEI) Corporate Governance Strengthening Project;

  • Centre for Policy Dialogue Independent (economic) Review of Bangladesh;

  • MIDPCR market infrastructure development in the charland regions;

  • REB rural electrification programme.
